Day 10: Think Tank

 Hi Everyone,

Highlights of Our Day:

  • For our eye opener today we did scrabble. The mystery word today was "place value".
  • In literacy today, we learned about a new literacy center called "Think Tank". We first divided our page into three sections: see, think, wonder. We were then given an image to observe. In the see section we drew a picture and wrote in point form what we saw. In think we wrote down any thoughts we had about the image and in wonder we wrote down any questions we have about the image. Today our image was the Alberta Flag. Check out the pictures below to see some of our work
  • In Math today we discussed the different forms we can write numbers in. We discussed standard form, expanded form, written form, chart form and base ten form. We then created a flip chart in our visual journals. The pictures below show some of our work! We will finish putting our examples of each form into our flip chart tomorrow
  •  We had our first chance to try out the computers today. We started by getting ourselves signed into the computer and our Google Account. Once we were signed in we joined Ms. Hill's Google Classroom. Then we did research on symbols of Alberta. After we were done researching, we shared our findings to the class and created a class list of symbols of Alberta
  • We continued our read aloud of "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". Today we read chapter 8
  • In PE we continued to work on our running skills
