Day 3: Masked Self Portraits

Hi Everyone,

Today was our first day having the whole class attend! It was so nice to start building our classroom community and get to know everyone together! :) 

Highlights of Our Day:

• For our eye opener today we did "Show Me", where we had to tell/show everything we knew about the number 250. 
• We had our first music class with Ms. Lysak today. Music looks a bit different this year and Ms. Lysak comes to our classroom instead of us going to the music room
• We did a spelling test today in literacy
• In math we created a calendar for September. We were given a blank calendar, which we had to fill in and then we used our calendar to answer questions
• We continued our read aloud of "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". Today we read chapter 2.
• In art we read the story "Masked Ninja" and then started our self portraits. This year we are created a self portrait that shows us with our mask on and then when we pull down the paper we see our whole face, surrounded by words that describe us. We did not have time to finish those today and will continue to work on this tomorrow. 
• In PE today we reviewed the rules of the playground then got to play on the playground. 

Reminders:

On Fridays we have dismissal at 11:45am

Our meeting spot each morning is on the soccer field, I will be out each morning for now to meet the students 

Please send a water bottle, the water fountains are unavailable at this time

Please make sure your child has a pair of indoor shoes, to be left at school, and outdoor shoes. 

Please label your child's masks and personal items, such as water bottles and lunch kits

Monday September 7th is Labour Day. No School
