Day 12: Symbols of Alberta

Hi Everyone,

Highlights of Our Day:

  • Our eye opener today was word work. We continued to work on the long and short "a" sound. We had to think of as many words as we could with the long and short "a" sound and sort them into a chart (short a, long a-ai, long a-ay, long a-a_e)
  • In literacy today we worked on creating the good copy of our All about me Poem. We wrote out our poem on to our watercolour backgrounds we painted yesterday, then went over the poem with a sharpie
  • In math today we learned a new game called race to 500 and practiced written form of numbers.
  • We had music today
  • We read the final chapter today of our read aloud "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing"
  • In social studies we took the research we did on Tuesday to continue our discussion around symbols of Alberta. Today we took some of those symbols to create a page in our visual journals. We ran out of time to complete this page and will will be given time tomorrow to finish it up Check out the blog tomorrow for pictures!
  • In PE we continued to work on our running skills
