Day 6: Me in Numbers

 Hi Everyone,

Highlights of Our Day:

  • For our eye opener this morning we practiced our mental math of adding to 10. We were given one die to roll then we had to use our mental math skills to tell us what we needed to add to that number to make 10. Eg. I rolled a 2, I would write 2+8=10
  • In writing today we wrote another letter. Today our audience was the characters from our read aloud, "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". We had a choice to write to either Fudge or Peter. If we were writing to Peter we were writing to him to give him advice on how to deal with Fudge. If we were writing to Fudge, we were giving advice on how he could be a better little brother to Peter. We brainstormed ideas together as a class and wrote an example together then we were given individual time to write our letters
  • In Math today, we did an activity called Me in Numbers. We first brainstormed together things about ourselves that have numbers in it, such as our grade, age and birthday. Then we set up a page in our visual journals to tell all about ourselves with numbers. Check out the pictures below to see some of our work!!
  • In PE today we were outside. We worked on running, while keeping personal space. We did a warm up lap then we played "would you rather" where we had to run to the side with the option we would choose
  • We continued our read aloud of "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing". Today we read chapter 4
  • In social studies, we continued to work on labelling our map of Canada with all the provinces. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QBQ5ZhHlkkY
  • We then had some time at the end of the day to work on finishing up our letter to Peter or Fudge, our masked self portraits, our map of Canada and our "me in numbers" page.
